Charlemont is only 4 miles away and offers a wonderful general store, Avery's, as well as an excellent pizzeria, a cafe, a package store (for beer, wine and liquor), post office, gas stations and several of the sport and music highlights listed on this page.

Shelburne Falls, about 8 miles east of Charlemont, is home to the famous Bridge of Flowers and many artisans' workshops, antique stores and restaurants, as well as an old-fashioned bowling alley and movie theater.

Greenfield, at the intersection of Rtes. 2 and 91, offers a Big Y supermarket, Home Depot, Staples, Wilson's department store, several movie theaters and more restaurants.
